OUR MISSION
The mission of TAPA is to develop, enhance, and nurture a community of young adult alumni of therapeutic programs. We foster a positive community culture in which people respect, acknowledge, and support one another through the ups and downs in life. We hope to reinforce the gains we have made and offer a dynamic platform through which we can understand, promulgate, and improve the work taking place throughout the field of alternative therapeutic programs.

Enhance relationships between alumni and treatment programs

Encourage alumni to connect with one another in person and online

Host informational webinars

Provide opportunities for alumni to visit programs and speak with clients

Partner with programs and consultants to educate professionals (clinicians, educators, attorneys working with young people, clergy, etc.) and the general public about the existence and effectiveness of alternative therapeutic and educational programs for young adults and adolescents

Encourage alumni to frame their therapeutic experiences in a positive way

Offer an antidote to the stigma of mental health disorders

Encourage alumni to join together to serve their communities

Establish a parent support network to encourage parents to focus on their own growth, develop and maintain healthy boundaries with their children and to honor their children’s independence
